Some people work to cure cancer, others are fighting the war on poverty. Me? My selfless act is to help people spend money on stuff they need, like clothes and bags and makeup and, of course, killer shoes. But, that's not all. I like to eat. And complain (most specifically about how hard it is to be a mom). Oh, and obsess over the next perfect pair of shoes.

Chips Ahoy
Two days shy of my two-week CND Shellac manicure anniversary, I found 'em — two (sensing a theme?) chips.
Everyone altogether now......"Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwww."
It's OK. I am still just amazed at how long my nails were absolutely, positively perfect. Beat the old record by a good 11 days, 23 hours and 59 minutes. Yes, I suck at keeping my nails nice.
This weekend, I shall attempt to take the polish off (the manicurist says it's easy to do — you just have to soak in pure acetone for about 10 minutes). Truth be told, two weeks is about the max of my nail attention span anyway. The race-car red was fun, but now my hands are ready to move on.
You can see the previous posting about the Shellac manicure, which became widely available last month here. The gel-polish hybrid is supposed to last two weeks without chips or smudges — manicurists and customers I talked to say you can actually go three weeks. It costs about $20 more than a regular mani, but well worth it. I'd do it again.

Wow, you really did make it almost 2 weeks! That's pretty amazing.
