Anyone can spend two months' salary and buy a diamond. That doesn't take much imagination.

At least, that's what I'm gonna keep telling myself. Plus, diamonds are bad! They're causing bloodshed and funding terrorism, and, really, who wants to support that?

It's infinitely cooler to have something unique, like this clamshell necklace by Laughing Raven Design. Artist Jamie Bichler even uses recycled silver and copper in her designs (good shopping — you're helping the Earth!), which are etched and stamped.
